Scope and Content Note: Papers in this series document Tanenbaum's activities as director of the International Relations Department of the American Jewish Committee and include correspondence, reports, memoranda, notes and meeting minutes. There is extensive material in this series on the Middle East and Israel as well as the Camp David Israel-Egypt peace treaty talks, Latin America, South Africa and Soviet Jewry. Also included are papers pertaining to Tanenbaum's activities with the International Rescue Committee and his work with Cambodian refugees.
